DPR Members Call For Maximum Positive Use Of Technology
JAKARTA - Member of Commission I DPR RI, A. Rizki Sadig conveyed how the role of the younger generation should be in the current digital era. The younger generation must be able to use technology for productive things.
"The young generation should not waste time on things that are unproductive or have no benefit to our lives. Use the internet or digital presence which has been greatly facilitated by the government as much as possible. Because digital is now able to cover everything we need starting from economic, social, transportation, business, health and education," said Rizki Sadig in a discussion organized by the Directorate General of IKP, Kominfo RI with the theme "Digital Capable Generation", quoted Saturday, September 25.
Rizki Sadig added that the younger generation also needs to be wise in using social media in this era of freedom in the digital world. Everyone needs personal control because the digital footprint will be very detrimental.
"We have to be ready and this digital world is no different from our everyday world. In our reality world there are good people and bad people, just like the digital world we will also find good actions and can increase a person's capacity and productivity but there are also activities or products with a bad intention," he said.
On the same occasion, Gun Gun Siswadi as an Academician at Esa Unggul Jakarta University said that 203 million internet users or 73.3 percent of Indonesians are connected to the internet.
"How can we use the internet in our lives, what we used to do offline or directly, now we can do everything online and quickly. From culinary, transportation, health and even education. As many as 61.8 percent of Indonesia's 200 million population "Those who use the internet, already use social media, are certainly a good enough opportunity for all of us to be able to develop and take advantage of the development of digital technology in our daily lives," explained Gun Gun.
"Of course, by deepening digital literacy, we should not be exposed to the challenges and threats of social media, there are hoax news, negative sites, messaging systems, and many others that are not in line with the laws in Indonesia," he added.
