President Jokowi: Help Each Other Without Seeing The Key Differences For A Tough Nation

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo stressed that helping each other regardless of differences is the key so that the Indonesian nation remains resilient in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in a virtual speech at the inauguration of the National Leadership Council of the Justice and Unity Party (DPN PKP), in Jakarta, Friday, September 24.

"Helping each other regardless of differences is the key to keeping our nation strong," said President Jokowi as quoted by Antara.

Jokowi said that for the last two years the government has worked to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, with extraordinary steps, namely addressing the health sector, providing social protection for vulnerable and poor community groups, as well as providing support for MSMEs and the business world to be able survive and move back.

Jokowi said that the government is also working in obtaining vaccines that are being contested by countries in the world, and has been quite successful in securing the supply of COVID-19 vaccines that are being contested by nearly 220 countries.

"Even now we are ranked sixth in the world, as the country with the highest number of people who have been vaccinated and based on total injections," said the President.

Jokowi stressed that the government cannot face the crisis alone. The President said the participation of all elements of society is very necessary, by uniting, working together to face the pandemic.

The President expressed his gratitude to the entire community, including senior figures and PKP cadres who have participated in dealing with the pandemic, invited the public to be disciplined in health protocols, follow vaccinations and show mutual care to ease the burdens and difficulties of others.
