Again, 14-year-old Boy Drowns In Ciliwung River, Body Found By Joint Team At Night
JAKARTA - Head of the Jakarta SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) Search and Rescue Office, Hendra Sudirman, said the 14-year-old teenager who had disappeared from drowning in the Ciliwung River, Pejagalan Village, Penjaringan Sub-district, was finally found.
"The victim with the initials Y (14), was found at a radius of 5 meters from the scene by the joint SAR team at 20:20 WIB. The victim was found dead," said Hendra to VOI, Friday, September 24, evening.
Hendra said, during the search process, the joint SAR team divided the area into 3 points. The first SRU conducted a search using an inflatable boat as far as 1 Km from the scene of the incident and the second SRU conducted a visual search of the land route with a distance of 1 Km from the incident location.
"The third SRU, if possible, will dive a radius of 10 meters around the incident site," he said.
The search and rescue operation tonight was carried out by a joint team from the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, Penjaringan Police, North Jakarta Damkar, Penjaringan POL PP, Penjaringan Koramil, DKI Jakarta BPBD TRC, AGD Health Office, CAT Rescue, RIT (Independent Volunteer Team), IEA, Tagana North Jakarta, PMI DKI Jakarta, SRA (Social Volunteer Ambulance), Pejagalan Village and Victims' Families. Furthermore, the victim's body was evacuated to the funeral home.
As is known, it was previously reported that a 14-year-old child drowned while swimming in the Ciliwung River, Pejagalan Village, Penjaringan Subdistrict, North Jakarta. The incident occurred on Friday, September 24, at around 16.30 WIB.
The victim and his friend were swimming in the river, suddenly the victim swam into the middle of the river. The victim had asked for help until finally drowned in the water.
