VIDEO: Police Uncovered The Smuggling Of Tens Of Kilograms Of Marijuana And Methamphetamine In An Expeditionary Service Mode

JAKARTA - The police thwarted seven attempts to smuggle narcotics into Jakarta over the past two months. Almost all of them use the mode of delivery via courier services.

"There are seven cases of disclosure of narcotics of the type of marijuana and methamphetamine from Sumatra networks through the expedition route," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Yusri Yunus, to reporters, Friday, September 24.

From the smuggling failure, it was recorded that 22.3 kilograms of marijuana and 22.2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were confiscated. Then, nine people with the initials USM (35), FR (24), RR (35), ADM (37), MI (25), PI (33), DG (23), RN (30), and FP (31) were assigned as a suspect.

The first thwarted smuggling attempt occurred on July 19, 2021. A suspect with the initials ADM was arrested at the expedition office on S Parman Street, West Jakarta with evidence of two packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 538 grams.
