Breaking Into Residents' Stalls And Fighting When Arrested, ARD Residents Of Padang Didor Police
PADANG - The Padang City Police (Polresta), West Sumatra (West Sumatra) arrested and shot ARD called Uncu (25), a suspected thief who drained the contents of a resident's stall on Jalan Proklamasi, Ganting Parak Gadang Village.
"Officers were forced to immobilize the perpetrator by shooting him in the leg, because he tried to resist when he was about to be arrested on Thursday, September 24, at around 22.00 WIB," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Padang Police, Kompol Rico Fernanda, in Padang, as reported by Antara, Friday, September 24.
"When he was about to be arrested, the person concerned resisted and tried to escape, so decisive and measured action was taken," he said.
He said ARD, who is a resident of Ganting Parak Gadang Village, East Padang District, had been named a suspect and detained.
Rico explained that the case against ARD occurred on Friday, August 13, when he entered a stall on Jalan Tarandam through the roof.
After successfully entering, the suspect immediately took a number of merchandise that was in the kiosk.
In the form of rice, cigarettes, cooking oil, sugar, sardines, and others that made the victim lose around Rp. 100 million. After that, ARD immediately transported goods from the kiosk using a motorized tricycle to escape. Now the vehicle has been secured as evidence along with two sacks of rice.
To the police, suspect ARD admitted that he had committed theft three times in several places.
"During interrogation, the suspect admitted that he had committed three thefts. We are continuing to develop the case," he said.
On the other hand, the Padang Police confirmed that they would take action against criminals in the local city, especially in cases of theft.
