Having Fun Swimming On The Coast Of West Aceh, Fikri Was Even Dragged By The Current And Found Dead

JAKARTA - Officers from the Banda Aceh National SAR Agency (Basarnas) Pos Meulaboh evacuated the body of Fikri Haikal (32). He is a worker who drowned in a tourist beach area in Suak Puntong Village, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Aceh Regency.

"The victim was found about three kilometers from the scene in Peunaga Pasi Village, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency," said the Coordinator of the Meulaboh Pos Basarnas, West Aceh, Budi Darmawan, Thursday, September 23.

The bodies were found by a number of residents who were fishing on the beach. These findings were then forwarded to village officials and Basarnas.

The victim was previously reported to have drowned while bathing with a colleague named Putra in the tourist beach area in Suak Puntong Village, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Aceh Regency on Wednesday, September 22. Putra managed to survive after trying to save himself.

Meanwhile, the victim, Fikri Haikal, was allegedly dragged by the current and drifted away, so he was later found dead, quoted from Antara.

Fikri Haikal's body is planned to be buried in Aceh Besar District by the family, after previously being buried in a house in Suak Puntong Village, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Regency.

Budi Darmawan explained that the search for victims was carried out by Basarnas together with officers from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, using a Rescue Carrier unit and two LCR units each belonging to Basarnas Pos Meulaboh and BPBD Nagan Raya.
