Prove To Be Able To Escape From Huawei, Honor Shows Off Image Engine Technology

JAKARTA - Honor, a former subsidiary of Huawei, has just showcased its self-developed integrated computing photography technology. Dubbed the Honor Image Engine, this technology will be embedded early in the flagship Honor Magic3 series phones.

The computational integration can be used for multi-dimensional and multi-modal information gathering based on Honor's artificial intelligence (AI)-based computational photography algorithm. It is claimed, this technology can create an image experience beyond the perception of the human eye.

This technology will be embedded in the flagship Honor Magic3 series, the company says that the Honor Image Engine is also integrated with the Snapdragon 888 chipset, allowing images taken by different lenses to complement each other, in order to achieve improved image quality.

The presence of the Image Engine allows the Honor Magic3 phone to take two shots with the main camera and the ultra-wide camera simultaneously. These images can then be combined through superior computing.

It's worth noting that the higher the pixels in the captured image, it fills the center of detail, increasing sharpness by up to 80 percent and improving overall quality.

To avoid rough transitions after merging images, there is a smart smoothing algorithm that can instantly adjust fine areas, making blended photos look more natural. It is also supported by a combination of the main camera and photo lens, to improve image quality and increase sharpness by up to 180 percent.

Image Engine is one of Honor's creations, which has proven itself capable of breaking away from Huawei. Because now Honor is no longer part of Huawei, they have developed their own imaging technology.

After becoming an independent brand, Honor is trying to be independent and reduce its dependence on other companies. Currently, Honor is also in the process of forging relationships with suppliers to strengthen production and supply chains.

Even recently Honor is rumored to have partnered with tech giant Microsoft to develop smart and integrated technology solutions. This was reported by Gizmochina, Thursday, September 23.
