Prosecutor's Office Of Batu City Determines 2 Suspects Of Corruption In High School Land
BATU - The Batu City Public Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) has named 2 corruption suspects within the Batu City Government. Both of them are suspected of making a mark up on land acquisition at SMAN 3 Batu City in the 2014 budget year ago.
The two suspects are ES, a former ASN of the Batu City Government and NIS, a private party who is a partner in the project.
The Kajari of Batu City, Supriyanto, said that ES as the official who made the commitment was suspected of inflating land prices.
ES, who at that time served as the Head of Sub-Division of Assets at BPKAD Kota Batu, was allegedly assisted by NIS who acted as if he was a member of a feasibility study consultant. According to Kajari, NIS estimates that the land price is beyond a reasonable price.
"But from the results of the investigation, the value of the determined land price was beyond the reasonable price at that time. If you look at the real land price at that time, from our calculations it was too expensive,” Supriyanto told reporters, Thursday, September 23.
"After being calculated, the state losses reached more than Rp. 4 billion," he continued.
In this case, the two suspects were detained for the first 20 days in Malang Class I Lapas. The Prosecutor's Office will develop an investigation into this case.
"Including if there are other suspects, we will continue to investigate. We are waiting for developments," he said.
The two suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph 1 or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Act in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
