19 Years Vacuum, Semisonic Release You're Not Alone

JAKARTA - The Semisonic band reunites to release their latest music project. This time, a mini album is being prepared. However, prior to the release, they released the song You're Not Alone as the album's first single.

It has been 19 years since Semisonic has released music. After releasing All About Chemistry in 2001, Semisonic decided to take a hiatus.

Semisonic are known for their poetic lyrics featuring You're Not Alone still with their image. The music video, which was just released on Tuesday, July 14, features Dan Wilson - vocalist of Semisonic - who is seen walking like a child around the forest, walking on the railroad tracks and crossing the road.

The simple video is equipped with chorus; "And no one ever told you life was long" brings comfort to the listeners.

The music video is inspired by what is happening during the pandemic where we are self-isolating. The figure of a child doing his own activities describes us who are facing this situation.

"It's nice to get back together and make music that just comes out when we play," said Wilson quoted by Rolling Stone.

There is no certain hope or goal that Semisonic wants, because they just want to have fun in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic while treating fans' longings.

The mini album Seminosic will be released on September 18th by Pleasuresonic Recordings. The music video for You're Not Alone can be watched below:
