JAKARTA - The violence that occurred on the green field went viral on social media. The referee who leads the soccer match is the victim of abuse by a number of unscrupulous players.
The incident started when the victim named Wahyudin led the Champas FC versus Yutaka FC match at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, on Sunday, July 12.
During the match, Wahyudin made a decision if a player from the Champas FC team was in an offside position. However, some players did not accept and immediately surrounded him. There was an argument about this decision. Until finally, acts of persecution ensued.
Based on the photos and videos circulating, it was the player number twelve who carried out the persecution. Where the player from the Champas FC team stepped on Wahyudin's head when he fell on the ground.
Not accepting these actions, Wahyudin decided to report to the police. Although, previously there was good faith from the perpetrators of the persecution.
Confirmed regarding the investigation process, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bekasi Metro Police, AKBP Heri Purnomo, said that he was currently in the stage of clarifying several witnesses. However, it was not explained in detail the number of witnesses who had been questioned.
"For now, we are still in the process of clarifying witnesses," Heri told VOI, Wednesday, July 15.
The process of clarifying witnesses, continued Heri, aims to find the cause or trigger for the alleged persecution to occur. This was done while waiting for the results of the post-mortem from the hospital to be completed regarding the injuries suffered by the victim.
"Until now, the results of the post-mortem have not been issued. We will see what the post-mortem will look like and we will raise it to the investigation," concluded Heri.
