Police Are Still Checking Luhut Pandjaitan's Report About Haris Azhar

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya is still examining the report of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan regarding Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidianti. Both were reported on suspicion of defamation.

"Investigators are preparing the administration of the investigation, because now it is still under investigation," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Thursday, September 23.

Currently, investigators are still investigating whether there are allegations of criminal acts related to the report of Coordinating Minister Luhut.

"If it is complete, we will carry out an investigation," he said.

Yusri said that in the near future investigators would also invite Luhut as a reporter.

"We will invite the reporter to bring the existing evidence and several witnesses and finally the reported person," he said.

The report on Haris Azhar stems from the Youtube content 'There is Lord Luhut Behind Intan Jaya's Economic Relations-Military Ops, General BIN Also Exists,' and registered with the number STTLP/B/4702/IX/2021/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, 22 September 2021.

Coordinating Minister Luhut did not accept it because this was a libel. The opportunity to apologize to him had been opened through 2 summons but Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidianti ignored it.

"I remind you there is no absolute freedom, all freedom is responsible so I have the right to defend my human rights. I didn't do that, nothing! I asked for evidence, nothing!" said Luhut at Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, September 22.

"Because twice he didn't want to (Apologize). I have to defend my good name, my children, my grandchildren. So I think it's too much because I apologized twice, I don't want to apologize. Now we take legal action so I criminalize and civilize," said Luhut.
