West Ham's Special Victory Over Manchester United At Old Trafford, The First In 14 Years When Corlos Tevez Was In The Hammers Uniform

JAKARTA - West Ham's victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the third round of the English League Cup on Wednesday night local time was very special. The reason is, the last time they won there was 14 years ago, when the Hammers were strengthened by Carlos Tevez

"It's a special night for me and all the other players who took part and got a great win against Manchester United, because from my experience they are not always like this," midfielder Mark Noble told the club's official website on Thursday, quoted by Antara.

Noble explained that the last time West Ham won a game against Manchester United at Old Trafford was almost 14 years ago when he was still playing alongside Carlos Tevez.

"For our fans who came here and watched our win at Old Trafford, our last win here was when I played with Carlos Tevez, so that was 14 years ago and it's a very special night," said Noble.

The England international said if West Ham progressed deep in the League Cup, it would have an impact on players who rarely get game time.

According to him, this competition can provide opportunities for players who rarely get the chance to play and they are a good collection of players in the squad.

"(Winning this competition) provides an opportunity for players who don't play regularly. We have had a very good start to the season, and we have a squad of good players."

"When you get a chance you have to take it and I think most of the kids did tonight," Noble said.

West Ham stole victory from Manchester United in the third round of the English League Cup with a narrow 1-0 score through Manuel Lanzini's goal in the 9th minute.

The win sees West Ham advance to the fourth round of the League Cup to face Manchester City on 27 October.
