Save In-laws From The Fire Siege, The Man In The Field Of The Padang Refinery Dies
PADANG - One person died in a fire in two residential units in RT 003/003, Tarantang Village, Lubuk Kilangan District, Padang City, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Thursday, September 23 this morning.
At the time of the incident, the victim named Khairul Umam (39) tried to save his father-in-law, Taufik, who was still in the burning house. Taufik managed to get out, but Khairul's victim did not manage to get out of the house surrounded by the red rooster.
"This incident is still under our investigation, material losses are estimated at Rp 150 million," said Head of the Lubuk Kilangan Police Sector AKP Lija Nesmon, in Padang, Antara, Thursday afternoon.
He explained that the two buildings hit by the fire belonged to Taufik (78) and Nofrianti (38). It is known that the fire was initially seen from Taufik's victim's house and immediately grew, causing a stir among local residents.
"We have secured the location and taken statements from a number of witnesses for further investigation, the victims who died were taken to Bhayangkara Hospital," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Padang City Fire Department, which received reports from residents, immediately dispatched seven fire engines to the location.
"After receiving information from residents, we immediately mobilized personnel and fleets to extinguish the fire," said Head of Operations and Infrastructure of the Padang City Fire Service, Basril.
According to him, officers must immediately tame the red rooster's fury considering the local location is a densely populated area.
"Luckily the fire was immediately extinguished so it didn't spread to other buildings next door, so only two buildings were affected," he said.
