Even Though It's Still Cloudy Without Udan, Surabaya Walkot Eri Cahyadi Gaspol Checks The City To Anticipate Floods
SURABAYA - The Mayor of Surabaya, East Java, Eri Cahyadi ensures that the anticipation of the rainy season is well prepared. Eri Cahyadi toured the city ensuring readiness for flood anticipation.
“I went around checking channel widening and box culvert normalization to anticipate the rainy season. I headed to Tandes and Benowo sub-districts. Checking the channel widening work on Jalan Raya Darmo Indah, then Jalan Tubanan Baru, to be precise at the location where the bozem or water reservoir is made," said Eri Cahyadi via his Instagram account, Wednesday, September 22.
Eri Cahyadi in the uploaded video looks like he is riding a Vespa motorbike. The uploaded video includes the song 'Mendung Tanpo Udan' which was popularized by Ndarboy Genk.
Back to the matter of anticipating the rainy season flood. The meeting in the field, according to Eri Cahyadi, was conducted with the Head of the Public Works Department of Highways and Pematus (DPUBMP) Erna Purnawati.
“Overcoming inundation or flooding cannot be done in one location, but by looking at the area. Therefore, before widening the channel on Jalan Raya Darmo Indah, we have prepared a bozem for a place to collect water," he continued.
Mayor Eri also reviewed the normalization of box culverts or waterways on Jalan Raya Sememi, Surabaya, before the Babat Acne grave. There, officers from the Surabaya City DPUBMP carried out the dredging of mud deposits in the box culvert channel using two heavy equipment.
Mayor Eri Cahyadi was not awkward to go directly to the bottom of the box culvert channel. From the results of his review, he saw that the position of the silt deposit was almost half the height of the box culvert, so normalization was necessary.
“I checked, the silt is almost half the height of the box culvert, so normalization needs to be done.
With this mutual cooperation, God willing, everything will go well. The inundation points can be reduced and the water flows smoothly," said Eri Cahyadi.
