TANGSEL - Four suspects of drug abuse in the Bogor area, West Java were arrested by the South Tangerang Police. This arrest is the result of the development of a home-made methamphetamine factory that was uncovered some time ago.
South Tangerang Deputy Chief of Police, Kompol Lalu Hedwin Hanggara, said four suspects were arrested in this operation. They include the initials WH, GL, AN, and ER.
"A total of four perpetrators were arrested in the Bogor area. This is the result of the development of suspects VC, PR and RH in the disclosure of the home drug industry in an apartment in the South Tangerang area some time ago," said Police Commissioner Lalu Hedwin to reporters, Wednesday, September 22.
Then Hedwin explained that the arrest began with the perpetrator with the initials GL as the recipient of yellow powder from suspect WH, which is the raw material for making synthetic tobacco.
"GL admitted that since September 2020-January 2021, he had received a yellow powder package in the amount of 70 kilograms at the direction of a person named WH," he said.
From this information, the police gave chase and managed to arrest WH in the Rancabungur area, Bogor Regency. From the suspect's hands, evidence in the form of powder was secured
yellow color weighing 24,410 grams.
"WH admitted that he was entrusted to work to store the yellow powder by AJ's IG account (as a home industry warehouse), then WH is responsible for receiving, storing, wrapping and sending the yellow powder," he said.
"In the work of receiving, storing, packaging and sending yellow powder, WH is assisted by GL, DK and ER," he added.
For their actions, the suspects will be subject to Article 114 (2) subsidiary 112 (2) subsidiary 112 paragraph (1) subsidiary 132 paragraph (1) UURI No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of capital punishment, life imprisonment or imprisonment for a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years.
