TNI Evacuates Two Teachers And One Kiwirok Resident To Jayapura
JAYAPURA – TNI personnel from Kolakops Korem 172/PWY again evacuated 3 people from Kiwirok District to Jayapura using Hellycopter Type 412 EP TNI-AD Noreg HA – 5155.
The three refugees are 2 immigrant communities. They are Magdalena Esawaek (39) from Biak, a junior high school teacher, Rospiani Purba (55) from Medan, a junior high school teacher and 1 native Kiwirok Yosepa Taplo (50) a housewife.
"The three Refugees through the Territorial Staff of Korem 172/PWY have been sent to their respective homes in Jayapura. The residents express their gratitude to the TNI for evacuating them from the Kiwirok district," said the Commander of Korem (Danrem) 172/PWY Brigadier General TNI Izak Pangemanan in an official statement to VOI, Wednesday, September 22.
After the terrorist acts carried out by the Separatist Group in the Kiwirok district, Bintang Mountains district some time ago, people took refuge in the TNI Post. Currently, the number of people who have taken refuge in the Pamtas Battalion 403/WP Task Force Post is 17 people, all of whom are migrants.
During the evacuation process, TNI officers received gunfire from the Ngalum Kupel Separatist Group. However, this can be overcome, so that the evacuation can proceed safely.
His party revealed that the condition of the displaced people was in good condition and to meet their needs, the TNI would send food aid from Jayapura using a helicopter.
The TNI has increased the number of troops in the Kiwirok district in order to restore security and take action against the Ngalum kupel group.
