KPK Holds OTT In East Kolaka, Firli: We Are Not Indiscriminate

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri confirmed the existence of a Hand Arrest Operation (OTT) in East Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi.

Although he did not reveal who was arrested, he ensured that the anti-corruption commission would not be indiscriminate.

"Whoever the perpetrator is, we will not discriminate if there is sufficient evidence," said Firli in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, September 22.

The former deputy for prosecution of the Corruption Eradication Commission also ensured that the prosecution team would continue to work to collect information and evidence related to alleged criminal acts committed by a number of parties.

Thus, Firli asked the community to give time for his subordinates to work and reveal the facts behind the arrests of a number of parties in East Kolaka.

"KPK continues to work to collect information and evidence. Please give us time to work, later the KPK will provide a complete explanation after the collection of information and evidence has been completed," he said.

"Because we work based on evidence and with that evidence, it is clear that a criminal case of corruption and finding the suspect is clear," added Firli.

He ensured that the investigation into the alleged corruption was guided by the principles of carrying out the KPK's duties, including upholding legal certainty, justice, public interest, transparency, accountability, proportionality, and upholding human rights. given to those who are proven to have committed a criminal offense.

"KPK is committed to eradicating corruption and will never stop until Indonesia is free from corrupt practices," said Firli.

As previously reported, Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, confirmed that the KPK had made an arrest on Tuesday, September 21 at around 20.00 WIB. A number of parties who were successfully ensnared in the silent operation are being asked for their statements regarding the alleged violations of corruption.
