BMKG Weather Forecast: Beware Of Extreme Weather In Some Areas Wednesday 22 September

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued early warnings for extreme weather in a number of areas on Wednesday. As reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 22, information from the BMKG official website that was monitored in Jakarta, Wednesday morning, said areas with the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in several parts of Indonesia, including Banten, Bengkulu, Gorontalo, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Lampung, West Sumatra, East Java, Maluku, North Maluku. In addition, West Sulawesi, North Sulawesi , Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Riau, Papua and West Papua. Meanwhile, areas that have the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds are DKI Jakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, and South Kalimantan. Meanwhile, the area that has the potential for strong winds is East Nusa Tenggara.

The BMKG said that cyclonic circulation was observed around the territory of Thailand and in the western waters of the Philippines which formed a convergence area (meeting and decelerating wind speed) that extended around the cyclonic circulation. The convergence area was also observed extending from the Banda Sea to the central Makassar Strait and in Papua . "This condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the cyclonic circulation area and along the convergence area," said the BMKG.
