Government Expands Foreigner Entry Permits To Indonesia, COVID-19 Task Force: People Don't Need To Worry

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) has issued the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation Number 34 of 2021 which expands the category of entry permits for foreign citizens (WNA) to Indonesia.

Through this Permenkumham, the government provides an exception to enter Indonesia. These exceptions apply to foreigners holding visit visas and limited stay visas.

However, Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, asked the public not to worry about the potential increase in cases due to the new variant of COVID-19 that came from abroad.

"The public need not worry because this policy will be carried out carefully," said Wiku in a virtual press conference, Tuesday, September 21.

In addition, said Wiku, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly also has the authority to prohibit and deny entry to foreigners from certain countries with a high rate of spread of COVID-19 in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

In accordance with the Task Force Circular Number 18 of 2021 along with its 2 addendums, as well as the Kasatgas Decree Number 13 of 2021, international travelers are required to carry out health protocols in the form of document screening and health.

The protocol is to use the PeduliLindung application, retest the PCR twice upon arrival at the entry and exit test, and to quarantine for 8 days.

Previously, Permenkumham Number 34 of 2021 gave entry permits to foreigners holding valid and valid visas or residence permits. The previous rule was that foreigners holding visas could not enter the territory of Indonesia, except for official visas and diplomatic visas.

Offshore visa services that were previously temporarily suspended have now reopened. Applications for offshore visa approval can be submitted based on the type of activity of the foreigner in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

Applications for visa approval are submitted online through the visa-online.imigration.go.id website. Especially for work visa applications, it is done through the website tka-online.kemnaker.go.id.

Other subjects who are now granted permission to enter Indonesian territory include foreigners holding official residence permits, diplomatic residence permits, limited stay permits, permanent residence permits, APEC business travel card (KPP) holders, transportation crews who come along with their conveyances, and passers-by. traditional boundaries.
