Alleged Corruption Of Grant Funds, Padang Attorney's Office Examines 2 Witnesses From Internal KONI

PADANG - The Padang District Attorney, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) is investigating an alleged corruption case in the Padang National Sports Committee (KONI) grant funds for the 2020 fiscal year.

"Initially we received reports from the public, the reports were then followed up by conducting clarifications and investigations," said Padang District Attorney's Head Ranu Subroto in Padang, Antara, Tuesday, September 21.

Ranu also confirmed that in the course of the investigation his party had summoned three witnesses from the Padang Youth and Sports Office and KONI Padang.

Today his party has questioned two witnesses from the Padang KONI, namely AS and K. While another witness comes from the Youth and Sports Service with the initials J, he was questioned last Monday.

However, his party has not been able to explain in detail the material of the case because the investigation process is ongoing.

He explained the investigation carried out by his party to find out whether there were criminal acts in the case, including acts against the law and losses to the state.

"So at this time it can't be concluded whether this problem is a criminal act or not," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Special Criminal Section of the Padang Attorney's Office, Therry Gutama, said it was possible that other parties would be questioned further.

"It is possible that later there will be additional witnesses, it depends on the needs of processing the problem (KONI)," he explained.
