Google Launches Auto Brightness Feature In Meet, Overcome Face Brightness During Meetings
JAKARTA - When making video conference calls, our faces are often not visible due to the lack of light in the room. However, this is now no longer a serious problem for users of the web version of Google Meet with the auto brightness feature.
Google recently launched the auto brightness feature for users of the web version of Google Meet. Actually, this feature was already present on Android and iOS devices last year first.
The company realizes that facial brightness has been a problem for Google Meet users, especially the web version, because the quality of laptop webcams is less qualified than smartphones.
As a result, the faces of Google Meet users often appear dark and unclear. Therefore, Google brings this feature. The auto brightness feature will automatically detect when the user's display looks less bright during video calls.
User can enable or disable it. The auto brightness feature works for devices with 64 bit operating systems, such as Chrome version M90 or higher on Windows, Mac, or Linux. Version M90 or higher on Chrome OS and Edge (Chromium) 90 or higher on Windows or Mac with hardware acceleration enabled and WebGL.
This feature will be available to all users in the coming weeks. To use it, users only need to select the More menu and Settings. Then select Video and click the Adjust Video Lighting menu.
When it's active, the feature can detect the web version of the Google Meet display brightness level. If the brightness level is less, this feature will automatically increase the brightness of the device.
Keep in mind, the auto-exposure feature can also slow down a user's device. It is recommended to use this feature only when participating in formal video conference activities. This was quoted from Gadget NDTV, Tuesday, September 21.
