Modus Revealing Affair With Binor, Vegetable Trader Claims Police Extorted Rp30 Million Victim
CIANJUR - Cianjur West Java Police arrested Nurholis (30), a resident of Gekbrong Sub-district for claiming to be a police officer. In their actions, the perpetrators extort tens of millions of victims.
Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawan said that Nurholis worked as a vegetable trader every day. Armed with the victim's report, his party immediately moved and arrested the perpetrator at his residence, Gekbrong Village, Gekbrong District.
"The perpetrator used the name Ricky, who happened to have that name at the Satreskrim, but his rank was Aipda not Ipda. He claimed to be a member of the Cianjur Police Headquarters, so the victim believed him," he said in Cianjur as reported by Antara, Tuesday, September 21.
The victim in this extortion case is angry with the perpetrator because he often asks for money. He also reported the incident to the authorities. A number of evidences were also secured by officers, such as a white shirt and tie commonly used by Satreskrim members.
Then the police uniform complete with the rank of Ipda. According to Doni, Nurholis was provoked by a man named Rudi.
"Rudi invites Nurholis to blackmail Ilham (the victim) who is accused of having an affair with his wife so that the perpetrator is covered in police clothes," he said.
Currently, Rudi has been arrested and is still undergoing investigation to account for his actions. Nurholis and Rudi were charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code concerning extortion with the threat of imprisonment for up to 4 years in prison.
Meanwhile, based on Nurholis' information, Rudi got uniforms and police-style clothes who bought them in the Sukabumi area. He was ordered by Rudi to admit that he was a member of the Cianjur Police in order to blackmail the victim.
"I had received money from the victim of Rp. 30 million, of which the money was shared with Rudi. I was afraid that the victim would be prosecuted because of his affair with Rudi's wife," said Nurholis.
