Operation Patuh Jaya On The First Day, There Were 2,560 Violators Dominated By Two-wheeled Vehicles

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya recorded 2,560 violations on the first day of Operation Patuh Jaya 2021. However, most of the violators were only given a warning.

"The number of violators of 2,560 who were given a reprimand was 1,715," said Head of Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono to VOI, Tuesday, September 21.

Of the thousands of violations, continued Argo, the majority of violators were two-wheeled vehicles or motorcycles. The number reached 2,229 vehicles.

"Types of vehicles are dominated by 2,229 two-wheelers, 214 four-wheeled or private vehicles and 113 public transportations," said Argo.

Then, referring to the data, the most frequent violations were going against the flow. In which, the number reached 544 offenders.

"The non-standard exhaust 80 violators, the use of rotator 4 violators, against the flow of 544, parking prohibition signs 347 violators, through the TransJakarta route 202 violators, 6 odd-even violators, 333 violators not wearing helmets, and 1,044 other violations," said Argo.

Previously, Operation Patuh Jaya 2021 took place from 20 September to 2 October. In this operation targeting four things.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran said the first target in Operation Patuh Jaya was to appeal to the public to always be orderly in traffic or apply health protocols (prokes).

"Operation Patuh Jaya 2021 in addition to wanting to increase community discipline in traffic while increasing community discipline in obeying the COVID-19 prokes," said Inspector General Fadil.

Then, the second focus is related to traffic engineering management. This is important to do to prevent traffic accidents.

"The indicators of success that we expect (from) the Patuh Jaya Operation are firstly ensuring a sense of security in carrying out activities, secondly decreasing the level of community violations in traffic. In 2020 there were 1,930,983 traffic violations," said Fadil.

"Third, the decrease in the level of traffic accidents. In 2020 there were 8,204 traffic accidents with 9,682 victims and losses of Rp. 19 billion, 130 thousand," he continued.

Lastly, Operation Patuh Jaya also focuses on suppressing the spread of COVID-19 cases. Because, monitoring the implementation of the process can at least help the risk of spreading.

"Fourth, the decline and continue to decline in daily cases and active cases in the Capital City and its surroundings at the PPKM level that is currently in effect," said Fadil.
