DKI Provincial Government Asked To Prepare For Trial Opening Of Thousand Islands Tourism

JAKARTA - The Regent of the Thousand Islands Administrative Regency has written to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to apply for the opening of his tourist area.

While waiting for approval from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Jakarta DPRD PSI faction member Anthony Winza asked the DKI Provincial Government to prepare for the trial requirements for opening tourist attractions.

A number of procedures for implementing health protocols that need to be prepared include verifying the PeduliLindung application to limiting tourist visitors to the Thousand Islands.

"Currently, limiting capacity is still the main rule of health protocols, it should not be restricted to islands but not on ferry boats. Don't let many displaced people not be accommodated even though they have arrived on the island," said Anthony in his statement, Tuesday, September 21.

In addition, the RT/RW level COVID-19 Task Force must continue to supervise tourists in the Thousand Islands, especially tourists who do not follow health protocols.

"This must be a joint commitment to monitor each other and reprimand each other if there are violations of health protocols that have the potential to spread Covid-19," said Anthony.

Anthony considers that it is time for the Thousand Islands to open its tourist attractions. This is because most of the people depend on the tourism sector. In addition, said Anthony, the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination in the Thousand Islands is also quite high, namely, around 92 percent of the first dose and around 58 percent of the second dose.

"The people of the Thousand Islands who are engaged in tourism have also prepared themselves because they have been integrated into the Tourism Awareness Group. In fact, currently the people of the Thousand Islands are conducting the CHSE (Clean, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability) certification process," he concluded.

It is known, currently DKI Jakarta has only opened three tourist attractions in its area. Among them are Ancol Dreamland, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village.
