Gubsu Edy's Praise To Bobby Nasution, Immediately Responds To This: Revitalization Of Merdeka Square Is Good, Try To Help Rp100 Billion

MEDAN - The Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi, praised Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution's steps to revitalize Medan's Merdeka Square, and promised a budget of Rp 100 billion.

He said this when a coordination meeting on the synergy of integrated infrastructure development in Medan-Deli Serdang-Binjai was attended by the Mayor of Medan, the Regent of Deli Serdang and the Mayor of Binjai at the North Sumatra Governor's Office House, Medan.

Gubsu Edy fully supports the Medan City Government to revitalize Merdeka Square, especially the Head of Medan City Bappeda Benny Iskandar has explained the picture after the revitalization was carried out.

"We actually have an idea as well, but I see that Bobby's description of the revitalization of Merdeka Square that Bobby has made is good. I support it. Try to help with Rp. 100 billion. Where will the funds come from, try to find out first," said Gubsu Edy to the Head of North Sumatra Bappeda, Hasmirizal Lubis, Monday. , September 20.

Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution appreciated the plan to provide assistance from the North Sumatra Provincial Financial Aid (BKP) to revitalize Merdeka Square.

"Thank you for the Rp100 billion aid for the revitalization of Medan Merdeka Square from the Governor of North Sumatra. We will prepare everything, at the end of the year we will tender and start the year immediately," said Bobby Nasution.

The mayor of Medan also explained that to revitalize Merdeka Square, a budget of around Rp. 174 billion is needed. The Medan City Government, said Bobby, has allocated and coordinated with the relevant ministries.

Bobby Nasution said that his party wants Merdeka Square to be returned to its function as a green open space with a revitalization concept carrying a green concept.

"We have allocated the Merdeka Square revitalization fund, and we are ready to implement it. Alhamdulillah, the whole concept of revitalization was carried out by the Medan City Government," said Mayor Bobby as quoted by Antara.

Pemko Medan will revitalize Merdeka Square to become a cultural heritage site and green open space (RTH).

This plan will be followed by the creation of an underground parking pocket that will connect Merdeka Square, Kesawan, the train station and the Grand Aston City Walk Hotel.

Meanwhile, the tenants who have been at Merdeka Walk will be moved to the Kesawan Old Town area. This step was taken by the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution in order to organize Medan City for the better.

In order to make this happen, Bobby Nasution asked the North Sumatran DPRD members who were present, namely Akbar Himawan Buchari and the North Sumatran Provincial Government to collaborate with the Medan City Government in revitalizing Merdeka Square into the green open space.

Because, according to Bobby Nasution, this is also in line with the wishes of the Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi, who wants to make Merdeka Square a green open space area.

"We ask for support from the North Sumatra DPRD and the North Sumatra Provincial Government to realize the revitalization plan. Hopefully next year we can do it," he hoped.

In addition, Bobby Nasution also revealed that the Deputy Mayor as the Head of the Old City Regional Agency has also communicated with the Merdeka Walk management to discuss the transfer of tenants in Merdeka Walk.

The plan, according to Bobby Nasution, the tenants will be reallocated to a predetermined place, namely the Kota Lama Kesawan area in order to create a vision and mission to make Medan City even better.
