The Problem Of Explosive Sounds In Istiqlal, Clarified By The Police
JAKARTA - Residents of Jakarta were shocked by the information about an explosion around the Istiqlal Mosque friend or to be precise next to the Sriwijaya Hotel, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 16, noon. The police denied the information on the explosion, only admitting that there were findings of suspicious items there.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said the suspicious item was a black suitcase. The police conducted checks after receiving information on the findings of suspicious objects. After being examined, the suspicious object in the form of a suitcase contained clothes.
"There was no explosion. So there was a suspicious object at the Juanda station which was reported. After being examined and x-rayed, it contained clothes," Yusri told VOI when contacted, Monday, December 16.
Yusri also denied that when he was asked about the information that the suitcase was deliberately detonated by the bomb squad. The suitcase is only checked using X-ray technology to confirm its contents.
"Nothing, checked using X-ray not detonated," he said.
Confirmed separately, Istiqla Mosque Protocol Head Abu Hurairah said he did not hear the sound of an explosion. Information circulating, the explosion occurred at around 11.00 WIB, but Abu who was at the mosque confirmed that he did not hear any sound.
"But I from Istiqlal did not hear the sound of an explosion," said Abu.
