Mayor Of Surabaya Sends Health Workers To Sidoarjo To Help Vaccinate Agglomeration

SURABAYA - Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi sent health workers to Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, to help accelerate vaccination in the agglomeration area.

"The police chief and I always say that our movement is not only for our own city, because Surabaya is influenced by agglomeration," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 20.

He said the Greater Surabaya agglomeration area, which includes Surabaya City, Sidoarjo Regency and Gresik Regency, is an inseparable unit, especially in efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this reason, continued Eri Cahyadi, the Surabaya City Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) agreed to assist the handling of COVID-19 in the surrounding area, especially in an effort to accelerate vaccination.

Eri Cahyadi stated that the efforts to handle COVID-19 carried out by Forkopimda Surabaya were not only focused on the "City of Heroes", because the COVID-19 situation in Surabaya City was also influenced by agglomeration areas.

In addition, Eri Cahyadi said, Surabaya could not stand without other cities as supporters.

Therefore, said Eri Cahyadi, when Sidoarjo and the surrounding areas need acceleration of vaccination, Forkopimda Surabaya is ready to help in that area.

"We will send the health workers and Mr. Kapolrestabes also send the vaccine car. So that we can together overcome the pandemic and then move the economy," he said.

For Eri Cahyadi, breaking the chain of pandemics in agglomeration areas cannot be done alone, so it requires the cooperation of all elements, both between regional heads and the community.

"Heads of regions must work hand in hand, work together so that they become one part, agglomeration cannot be separated," he said.

Starting Tuesday, September 21, the City Government together with the Surabaya Polrestabes began sending health workers and vaccine cars to Sidoarjo.

In fact, Mayor Eri Cahyadi together with the Head of Surabaya Police, Kombes Akhmad Yusep Gunawan, planned to be present at the launch of the event.

"We will send the health workers, we will send the vaccine car. God willing, I and the Chief of Police will go to Sidoarjo tomorrow," he said.

He said collaboration between regional heads was important in solving a problem, especially in resolving the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Because of our togetherness between regional heads, interforkopimda is the best for this country, Indonesia, so that we can get through this pandemic together," said Eri Cahyadi.
