Youth Group Allegedly Motorcycle Gang Attacked Penyet Chicken Shop In Medan
MEDAN - A group of youths suspected of being a motorcycle gang made a fuss at a chicken penyet Brother stall on Jalan Ngumban Surbakti, Medan Selayang District. In the action they carry sharp weapons.
The actions of a group of young people were caught on CCTV and went viral on social media. As a result of the actions of a group of youths, a number of glass, chairs and stall facilities were damaged.
The owner of the shop, Anwar Zebua (38), said the attack had happened to him four times. The first incident, he said, occurred in February 2021, then April and June 2021.
"This shop has been attacked four times by motorcycle gangs and I have reported it to the Sunggal Police and Medan Police," Anwar told reporters on Monday, September 20.
To this day, Anwar admits that he does not know why his shop is often the target of the group's alleged violence.
"They came with sharp weapons and went straight in and went up to the second floor. I did not join OKP or any other mass organizations. What is clear is that this has happened 4 times and there are no signs that the perpetrators of this motorcycle gang have been caught by the police," said Anwar.
Anwar also admitted to feeling anxious and afraid of the follow-up actions of the youth group. He asked the police to carry out regular patrols so that he was comfortable doing business.
Separately, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sunggal Police, AKP Budiman Simanjuntak, said that his party was currently investigating the brutal actions of a group of youths.
"If there is a report, there is no report. But our actions, we will still carry out an investigation," said AKP Budiman confirmed by VOI.
AKP Budiman revealed, prior to the incident, his party together with elements of the sub-district leadership and the COVID-19 Task Force had visited the shop not to open operating hours through the PPKM level IV rules.
"We came at 21.00-22.00, the COVID-19 task force, 3 pillars, until the sub-district head came down we visited him. We asked to close, follow the current rules, but they are not heeded," he said.
"The owner should have followed it, take the positives, if he followed it nothing would happen. Because the incident happened at around 02.00 WIB in the morning," said AKP Budiman.
