Gibran 'Jokowi' Given Widura Nagara Title From Surakarta Palace, Asked To Ngayomi, Ngayemi Residents

SOLO - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka received the title Kanjeng Pangeran Gibran Rakabuming Widura Nagara from the Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate Palace.

"Yes, earlier (getting a title from the palace, ed.)," said Gibran in Solo, Central Java, Antara, Monday, September 20.

He said the title was obtained when he visited a vaccination activity that was attended by courtiers at the Solo Palace. "I want to check the vaccination and even get a chance to meet Sinuhun (Pakubuwana XIII, ed.)," he said.

In addition to reviewing vaccination activities, Gibran and the palace also discussed several things, one of which was related to the arrangement of the Surakarta Kasunanan Palace area.

"Later we will touch some parts of the palace, one of which is in the square," he said.

Pengageng Parentah of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate Palace KGPH Dipokusumo said Gibran received the title from the Solo Palace family and directly from the Surakarta Sunanate Palace King Hadiningrat Paku Buwana XIII.

"The palace considers him to have a position and influence in the city of Solo, as well as he has a concern for the people and the city of Solo, that's why he got the title from Sinuhun (king, ed.)," he said.

The man who is familiarly called Gusti Dipo, said the title given to Gibran has a special meaning, namely the name Widura Nagara can be interpreted as a role model.

"Hopefully this name can be attached to Mas Gibran's own name, it is also hoped that Mas Gibran can 'ngayomi' (protect) and 'ngayemi' (provide peace) to the community," he said.
