JAKARTA - The DKI Warkop Institute has raised its voice regarding the appearance of three young men who resemble the legendary comedy group. Today, September 20, Indro and the DKI Warkop Institute spoke virtually. They straighten some assumptions that have developed in the community.

Indro himself doesn't mind the resemblance, but the use of Warkop's identity which is protected by law. “They seem to be our group. They act as if... we are,” said Indro, who regretted the steps of the three young men.

Regarding the resemblance, Indro realized that there were not a few who 'imitate' Warkop DKI starting from appearance to painting the faces of Warkop DKI members. However, none of them claimed to be Warkop DKI.

"I don't mind the resemblance. But they imitated the DKI Warkop which is protected by law," continued Indro.

“We really see it as a loss of respect for the rights and manners that we have. We don't focus on (material losses). The immaterial loss is that we get a bad name,” said Hanna, the son of the late Kasino Warkop.

Indro stated that his identity, Dono, and Kasino, along with Warkop DKI were registered in HAKI (Intellectual Property Rights) so that not just anyone could use their identity as a commercial.

“If Uncle Indro is already hurt, indirectly his children are also hurt and offended. My father Dono Warkop's struggle was not passed instantly in a few minutes," said Satrio, son of the late Dono Warkop.

They also compare that Warkop DKI exists not because they are looking for money, but because they are formed on the basis of kinship and friendship.

“From Warkop DKI I learned to appreciate the process. The management (Warkopi) directly injured our fathers' struggle for life and hurt our hearts," Satrio continued.

Apart from this, they are relieved because the public is starting to understand the concept of Intellectual Property Rights because of this incident.
