COVID-19 Indonesia Slopes, Anies Baswedan: The World Watches With Amazement
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that the countries in the world are currently surprised to see the condition of Indonesia which is experiencing a decline in COVID-19 cases when other countries experience the third wave of COVID-19.
He conveyed this in his remarks at the commemoration ceremony of the 76th Ikada Giant Meeting at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta.
"Today the world looks to Indonesia with amazement, how well we were able to go through yesterday's test period well and now we are in a much safer phase," said Anies, Monday, September 20.
Anies said that this condition was similar to the Ikada Giant Meeting on September 19, 2021. At that time, as many as 300 thousand people gathered at Ikada Field out of a total of 623 thousand residents of Jakarta. Half the population of Jakarta at that time voiced the independence that was proclaimed a month earlier.
According to Anies, the incident had a strong impact on the people's desire for independence. Both the people and their leaders, they have the same aspirations to fight the invaders.
"This repeats the events of September 1945, when the people and their leaders declared that they were in line and declared that they were moving together," said Anies.
Anies asked the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government and the entire community to implement the spirit of the Ikada Giant Meeting to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic that is still hitting today.
"This is the forerunner of the solid movement of the people together with the government. Therefore, at the moment we are solidly working together in dealing with the pandemic, we must continue to work together in various aspects, the people choose to come to Ikada Field because they want independence, but they want independence not to independent, but they want independence to change their fate," he concluded.
