Satisfied With Chelsea's Response To Poor Performance In The First Half, Tuchel: We Are More Confident And Have Quality
JAKARTA - Thomas Tuchel said he was satisfied with the success of Chelsea's players, responding to his disappointment with the performance in the first half with a good game in the second half to beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 in the Premier League in London, Sunday local time.
"I'm obviously not happy with the performance in the first 45 minutes," Tuchel said after the match.
"There were good individual performances like Kepa Arrizabalaga and Thiago Silva, but overall we lacked energy and seemed to be struggling in the duels for the ball," he added.
He conveyed this in the dressing room instructions at half-time and the Chelsea players responded with dramatically improved performances in the second half.
Tuchel admitted that he did not change any scheme, but his players appeared more confident to win thanks to goals from Thiago Silva, N'Golo Kante and Antonio Ruediger.

"To be honest we didn't change the system at all, but that's the main point," he said.
"People may see our system changing, but in reality the players are just running the system with more confidence, passion and quality," added Tuchel.
These results make Chelsea perched at the top of the standings in alphabetical order despite having a collection of 13 points and a surplus goal difference of 11 which is equivalent to Liverpool.
Chelsea next host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge for their Premier League Cup third round tie on Wednesday, before taking on Manchester City three days later in the Premier League.
