Processing Industry Is The Biggest Supporter Of Banten's GRDP, Ministry Of Industry: Keep It Up!
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) reports that the manufacturing sector is the largest contributor to the structure of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Banten Province with a record of 31 percent.
The Director General of Resilience, Regional and Industrial Access of the Ministry of Industry, Eko Cahyanto, said that Banten is one of the provinces with the largest contribution to national GDP.
"The Ministry of Industry pays attention to industrial areas that have been operating and have Industrial Estate Business Permits (IUKI) in order to continue to maintain and improve their quality in supporting the operations of industrial activities," he said as reported by the official website, Sunday, September 19.
According to Eko, in order to spur industrial development in Banten, the Ministry of Industry has carried out various strategic programs, including the construction of facilities and infrastructure, empowerment, empowerment of SMEs, and the development of halal industrial areas.
"The various infrastructure facilities developed are aimed at creating convenience for business and industrial actors, including clean water treatment, gas pipelines, and PLN substations," he said.
Eko noted, in 2020 Banten Province contributed Rp. 626 trillion or 4.05 percent of the national GDP. Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector focuses on the chemicals, footwear industry, as well as the basic metal, iron and steel industries.
On this occasion, he also encouraged the industrial sector to continue to contribute both in handling Covid-19 and in the recovery of the national economy. One of them is through the policy instrument for the Operational Permit and Mobility of Industrial Activities (IOMKI) in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Minister of Industry No. 3 of 2021 and SE of the Minister of Industry No. 5 of 2021.
“Here, the industry must use the PeduliLindung application. The Ministry of Industry has gradually piloted the implementation of worker screening and currently has ordered all companies to use the application,” concluded Eko.
