Three Pincara Passengers Drowned In The Konaweha River

KONAWE - Three passengers trapped in a car that sank in the Konaweha River, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, were evacuated dead. The other five passengers survived.

As reported by Antara, Sunday, September 19, based on the release of the Kendari Basarnas, the three victims who died were Sri Hasnati (41), Sumarsih (60) and Khofifah Eka Syahrani (8).

During the search, the Basarnas team was assisted by residents to pull a car from the bottom of the Konaweha River to the bank. At around 15.40 WITA, the Kendari Basarnas team assisted by residents in evacuating the three victims from the car in a state of death.

It is known, the three victims who died trapped when the car sank occupied the back seat. At the time of the incident, there were 8 passengers in the car from Lamongjaya Village, South Konawe Regency.

The accident occurred when the car crossed the Konaweha River using a pincara (a means of transporting local residents' conventional vehicle crossings) at around 11.50 WITA.

The vehicle suddenly slid into the Konaweha River when the pincara using an outboard propulsion engine was already driving in the middle of the river.

The Search and Rescue Office (KPP) or Basarnas received information on a car accident that fell into the Konaweha River from Yusnah, a protocol staff member of the South Konawe Regency Government, who reported that a car with 8 passengers had fallen from a pincara on the Konaweha River.

Based on the report, at 12.30 WITA the Kendari KPP rescue team was dispatched to the accident site to provide SAR assistance.
