Central Sulawesi Police Chief Visits Ali Kalora Shooting Location 100 Km From Palu City

JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters has also confirmed that the leader of the East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) Poso, Ali Kalora, was killed in a shootout with the Madago Raya Task Force in Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi. Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Rudy Sufahriadi immediately moved to the location.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters Inspector General Pol Argo Yuwono said the regional police chief will reportedly hold a press conference tonight. Currently, the regional police chief is on his way to the shootout location, which is about 100 km from Palu City.

"Tonight the information is that the Kapolda will hold a press conference," Argo said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 18.

Meanwhile, Argo is still waiting for official information from the Central Sulawesi Police Chief regarding the chronology of the shootout that killed the leader of MIT Poso.

"I'm still waiting too," said Argo.

As previously reported, the firefight between the Madago Raya task force and the Poso terrorist DPO group occurred again. The information received, in the shootout, killed two Poso terrorists, one of whom was the leader of the Poso terrorist, Ali Ahmad alias Ali Kalora and one of his members, Jaka Ramadhan.

"The DPO is suspected to be Ali Kalora and Jaka Ramadhan, currently on their way to the TKP," explained Danrem 132 Tadulako, Brigadier General Farid Makruf.

The gunfight occurred on Saturday (18/09) at around 17.20 WITA in the Mountains of Astina Village, Torue District, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi.
