Police Raided Motorcycle Gangs Planning To Brawl In Kembangan, 13 People Were Arrested, Dozens Of Weapons Were Confiscated
JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Sector Police conducted a search of the gathering place for motorcycle gangs at the soccer field near the Jami Ba'abul Minan Mosque, RT 07/08, Joglo area, Kembangan, West Jakarta.
From the results of the search, the police confiscated 12 sharp weapons of various types and 3 blunt objects left by their owners.
Kembangan Police Chief Kompol H. Khoiri said his party confiscated 11 sharp weapons, 1 saber, 1 baseball bat and 2 golf clubs.
"This operation to create conditions is carried out to minimize crime in the Kembangan area," he said when contacted by VOI, Saturday, September 18.
He explained that the operation to create this condition was led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, AKP Ferdo Elvianto.
"Alhamdulillah, the operation succeeded in thwarting the action plan of a group of youth motorcycle gangs who wanted to do a brawl," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, AKP Ferdo Alvianto, added that the weapons found were suspected as tools for brawls.
"This sword has no owner. Because when we got to the location they ran away leaving the vehicle and the gun. 41 motorbikes were secured because this vehicle was used for a brawl by a group of youths. We are still investigating the ownership of this knife," said Kanit.
For this incident, his party then brought evidence of sharp weapons to the Kembangan Police Headquarters.
"We will question the perpetrators who are detained for further investigation. We will not hesitate to act if there are criminal acts in the Kembangan area," he said.
In addition, officers secured evidence of dozens of motorbikes and various types of sharp weapons belonging to the youths at the Kembangan Police Headquarters for further investigation.
