KKB Had Shot At Papua, The Evacuation Of One Of The Two Bodies Of Female Health Workers Was Successfully Carried Out
KIWIROK - The evacuation of the body of Sister Gabriela Maelani (22) victims of the brutality of the Papuan KKB Ngalum Kupel led by Lamek Taplo was successfully carried out by the TNI and Polri on Friday, September 17.
Earlier on Wednesday, September 15, TNI-Polri officers managed to find the body of Sister Gabriela Maelani and her colleague, Sister Kristina Sampe Tonapa.
"Until last Thursday, only Kristina Sampe had been successfully evacuated due to unfavorable weather," said Commander of Korem (Danrem) 172/PWY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan in an official statement to VOI, Friday, September 17.
He said the joint evacuation team of the TNI from Battalion RK 751/VJS, Battalion 403/WP and Polsek Kiwirok took about 2 hours to carry out the removal of the bodies.
The steep terrain with a slope of 90 degrees and a depth of 300 meters made it difficult for the team on duty. However, he said, this did not become an obstacle and discouraged him to immediately carry out the evacuation of the victims.
"At 16.30 WIT the victim's body was successfully removed and secured at the Kiwirok Koramil post," he said.
During the evacuation process, the team received fire from KKB Papua. The shooting was carried out from across the ravine where Sister Gabriela's body was found. This disturbance can be overcome by TNI soldiers, so that the body can be lifted from the bottom of the ravine and buried in the Kiwirok Koramil.
Danrem said that the plan to evacuate the bodies to Jayapura would continue on Saturday, September 18 by observing the weather and security in the Kiwirok district. Currently, the thickening has been carried out by placing 1 SST personnel from Battalion RK 751/VJS.
It should be noted that today the Caracal TNI helicopter has succeeded in evacuating 9 health workers from Kiwirok to Jayapura and has received treatment and treatment.
