2 10 Kg Cannabis Sellers In Madina, North Sumatra Shot By Police For Trying To Seize Guns And Take Out Samurai
MEDAN - Police arrested 2 men in Tobing Village, East Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra. Both were arrested for being drug dealers of marijuana.
The two men were named Mahmudin Rangkuti alias Mahmudin (51) and Mahyadi Rangkuti alias Ahmadi (21). Both are residents of Pardomuan Village, East Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency.
The Mandailing Natal Police Chief, AKBP Horas Tua Silalahi, through the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKP Manson Nainggolan, said the two perpetrators were arrested based on public reports of the rampant circulation of narcotics in Pardomuan Village.
AKP Manson explained that the arrest began when officers got the cell phone number belonging to the alleged perpetrator, Sunday, September 12. The next day, officers tried to contact the suspected marijuana owner and ordered 10 kilograms of marijuana.
"In a conversation between the perpetrator and one of the personnel, there was an agreement via cellphone that the perpetrator would deliver or make transactions in Tobing Village, East Panyabungan District, at 19.00 WIB," explained AKP Manson, Friday, September 17.
Furthermore, in the afternoon, AKP Manson ordered his officer named Bripda Calvinus Bhata to conduct transactions with the perpetrators.
Then, the undercover officer and the perpetrator met at a location agreed upon by the perpetrator. The location has previously been a place for marijuana transactions.
"Furthermore, a perpetrator wanted to hand over 2 black plastic packs allegedly containing marijuana to the officers. When the officers saw the plastic, they immediately shot a warning shot into the air," he said.
However, at that time, the two perpetrators resisted by trying to seize the officers' weapons.
"The two perpetrators also (resisted) with hard objects in the form of stones and wood. When they were given another warning shot, they also ignored it and one of the perpetrators took out a samurai and wanted to slash the officers," he said.
Because they continued to give resistance, he said, officers were forced to immobilize one perpetrator by shooting him in the left leg and left hand.
From the hands of the two suspects, the police secured evidence in the form of 2 pieces of black plastic suspected of containing marijuana weighing 10 marijuana. Then, 1 machete/samurai and a motorcycle.
"The perpetrator and the evidence were brought to the Madina Police Narcotics Unit for the investigation process.
Manson explained, based on the legal case records, the perpetrator had slashed the personnel of the Sat Markoba Brigade Brigade Sorip Hasibuan who disguised himself as going to conduct a marijuana transaction, but the perpetrator managed to escape.
