Film A Man Called Ahok And Susi Susanti: Love All Will Be Screened In Beijing, China
JAKARTA - Susi Susanti's films: Love All and A Man Called Ahok have passed the judging panel of the 2021 Beijing International Film Festival (BIFF). The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, China, explained that the two films will be screened from September 21. the jury who are Chinese filmmakers, such as Gong Li.
BIBF is a meeting place for film business players in China with film producers, both domestic and international. Films purchased by the film business for distribution rights will be shown commercially in China, both online and offline in cinema buildings.
Susi Susanti: Love All is a biopic that tells the life journey of the Indonesian female badminton athlete, Susi Susanti.
The film A Man Called Ahok is based on a book entitled Ahok: A Story of Struggle & Sincerity which tells the life of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama in East Belitung.
The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing together with Nanyang Bridge Media will use BIFF as a promotional event for Nusantara tourism. Several interesting places in Indonesia for shooting locations will be presented on the occasion, according to the Indonesian Embassy.
BIFF which has been held since 2011 is organized by the China Film Administration, China Media Group, and the Beijing City Government. Since its inception, BIFF has become a gathering place for Hollywood executives, directors, producers, studio heads, filmmakers and actors from around the world.
"We really appreciate the participation of Indonesian films in the event," said Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun as quoted by ANTARA.
