Ambulance Takes Patient Intercepted By Pemotor, Kapolsek Pancoran Mas: They Finally Make Peace
JAKARTA - A video showing an ambulance containing a patient being intercepted by a motorist went viral on social media. This incident occurred in Sawangan, Depok, West Java on Saturday, July 11.
Kapolsek Pancoran Mas Depok Police Commissioner Tri Harjadi said the commotion occurred because motorcyclists were almost grazed by an ambulance carrying a patient.
"Information from the housing security guard at BDN Complex Jalan Raya Sawangan, the incident around 08.30 WIB. ... There was an ambulance that was stopped by two-wheeled motorists because before the complex was almost crowded," Tri said when confirmed by reporters, Sunday, July 12.
After that, there was an argument between the two parties. After that, they reconciled because they realized that no material loss had been experienced as a result of the incident.
"Then they continued their respective trips. There was no report to the Traffic Police in front of the Sawangan toll gate. The distance from the BDN Complex to the toll gate is about 150 meters," he said.
This video was originally uploaded by a Facebook account named Indah Purnamasari, who said she was a nurse and was a passenger in the ambulance.
In his upload he told a story and attached a video showing a man getting off his motorbike and approaching the ambulance driver he was in.
At the time of the incident, Indah said an ambulance was transporting the patient to the Mitra Keluarga Hospital, Depok.
"We thought, maybe this person wants to help us open a road because the road is quite jammed. But how come the signs are different. We go right, he goes right. We go left he goes left (basically, we don't give us a walk)," wrote Indah on her Facebook.
Furthermore, as seen in the video, a commotion broke out between the ambulance driver and the motorcyclist, which was then broken up by local residents.
Prioritizing ambulance cars has actually been regulated in Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning traffic and roads. Article 134 of the law regulates road users who have primary rights. There are several road users that must be prioritized in accordance with the order.
The first is a fire engine that is carrying out its duties. The second is an ambulance that is carrying out its duties.
Then in third place, vehicles that provide assistance in traffic accidents and vehicles of associations of state institutions and state guests also get priority.
Furthermore, the fourth is the accompaniment of delivering the corpse and the convoy or vehicle for certain purposes according to the police's considerations.
Article 135 stipulates that vehicles that have primary rights must be escorted by police officers and / or use red or blue light signals and the sound of sirens. Use of rotators, strobes and sirens is allowed.
In the third paragraph of the article, it is also explained that traffic signaling devices and traffic signs do not apply to vehicles that have primary rights.
