Coming Home From The US And India Must Quarantine For 2 Weeks, But From Samoa And Micronesia It's Only 8 Days
JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force has changed the rules regarding quarantine time for Indonesian citizens (WNI) travelers from abroad who enter the country.
Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said that Indonesian citizens traveling internationally are required to quarantine under two schemes.
If the traveler from the country of origin has a high escalation of positive cases, then they are quarantined for 14x24 hours or two weeks. Meanwhile, travelers from countries of origin with low positive case escalations are quarantined for 8x24 hours.
Wiku said that the escalation of COVID-19 cases in each country can be seen by the public on the worldometers.info/coronavirus page.
"Currently, the world's highest total positive cases as of September 16 were occupied by the United States, India and Brazil, while the lowest were Samoa, Saint Helena, Micronesia," said Wiku when confirmed, Friday, September 17.
This rule is stipulated in the Decree of the Chairperson of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 12 of 2021. In the decree, the quarantine location is at Wisma Atlet Pademangan, for Indonesian citizens who enter through the Soekarno Hatta-Banten airport entry point whose services include lodging, transportation, meals, and expenses. RT-PCR.
The centralized quarantine place for Indonesian citizens who travel internationally is only intended for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), students, and government employees after serving.
In the event that government employees are not willing to quarantine at a location that has been determined by the COVID-19 Task Force, quarantine must be carried out at a central quarantine hotel that has been determined at independent costs or other legal sources of financing.
