Bank BTN Aims For Mortgage Financing In North Sumatra, Wadirut: This Area Has High Potential Due To The Number Of Marriages
JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk is targeting housing finance or home ownership loans (KPR) for Low-Income Communities or MBR in the North Sumatra region.
Deputy President Director of Bank BTN Nixon LP Napitupulu said the potential for mortgage financing in North Sumatra was relatively large. The growth of Bank BTN subsidized mortgages on the island of Sumatra itself was recorded as the highest in Indonesia.
"The potential of North Sumatra is enormous. North Sumatra is arguably the largest in Sumatra, even though Sumatra itself is now number three after Jabotabek and East Java," said Nixon after symbolically handing over CSR assistance to the Ministry of Religion of Pematang Siantar City and IAKN Tarutung in Medan. , North Sumatra, quoted from Antara, Friday 17 September.
Nixon said the high potential for home financing in North Sumatra was also driven by the large number of new marriages. In Indonesia the figure reaches 400,000 to 1 million new marriages. Then the housing backlog figure is also still high at around 11 million housing units.
"So this house financing work will never stop. That's why the potential for housing finance in Indonesia is still high, including in North Sumatra," said Nixon.
According to Nixon, to maximize the potential for housing financing in North Sumatra, Bank BTN is currently starting to cooperate with several developers including Perumnas in building subsidized and commercial housing.
As for the city of Medan, the houses that are mostly built are high rise buildings, this is because the land price is already expensive.
"We are also looking for a place that is connected to transportation facilities. So that millennials can pay for apartments at affordable prices and their expenses are also more efficient because they are connected to transportation," said Nixon.
On the other hand, Nixon said, as a state-owned enterprise and development agent, Bank BTN has a social responsibility to the surrounding environment. One of the activities carried out as a form of social responsibility is to distribute Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for various fields ranging from religion, education to health.
"Regarding the religious field, we see the construction of religious facilities as a necessity. So we are thinking of helping CSR in the religious field," said Nixon.
Nixon admitted that one of the CSR activities carried out in the religious sector was to support the development of worship facilities and infrastructure in North Sumatra. This is realized by the company by providing CSR assistance to the Ministry of Religion of Pematang Siantar City and Tarutung State Christian Institute (IAKN) Tarutung.
For the Ministry of Religion of Pematang Siantar City, Bank BTN provided assistance in the form of building the dome of the Al-Ikhlas mosque which is located within the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Pematangsiantar City.
"This assistance is given because the mosque, the existence of the Al Ikhlas Mosque, has helped the community as a place of worship, a place for celebrating holidays, deepening the Islamic religion, fostering the younger generation of Islam, spiritual development of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and a center for Islamic development for the surrounding community," he said. Nixon.
As for assistance to IAKN, continued Nixon, Bank BTN provided CSR assistance in the form of a box car unit specifically designed to support religious activities initiated by IAKN Tarutung for the Ecclesiastical Music Education Study Program and Theology Study Program.
Operational vehicles in the form of box cars can be used for Christian worship services to villages (mobile or mobile worship/church cars).
With the worship service running, it is hoped that more people will get closer to God. Currently IAKN Tarutung is the only State Christian higher education institution on the island of Sumatra.
"We really appreciate IAKN Tarutung who are always present to prepare students to be faithful servants of God, have maturity in faith, and are able to carry out community service tasks. We hope that this assistance can be used as well as possible to support IAKN activities in the implementation of worship, Sunday schools, as well as other church ministry duties," said Nixon.
