Government Reminds People Positive For COVID-19 Don't Desperately Go To Public Places

JAKARTA - The government reminds people who are positive for COVID-19 not to carry out activities in public places or public spaces because they can endanger other people.

Based on data from the PeduliLindung application, thousands of people who were positive for COVID-19 were observed to still carry out activities in public places.

"The government is collaborating with the COVID-19 Task Force in public facilities and the Health Offices of each region immediately to refer people who are caught or classified as black so that they are immediately transferred to the nearest centralized isolation facility (isoter)," said Minister of Communications and Information Johnny G Plate, quoted by Antara. Between, Thursday, September 16th.

Based on data from the PeduliLindung application, there were 3,830 positive COVID-19 people still active in public places, such as malls, factories, trade centers, public transportation, and tourist attractions.

"The government continues to monitor and take action against every individual who is detected as a black category or positive for COVID-19 in the PeduliLindung application but is still trying to do activities in public spaces," said the Minister of Communication and Information.

Minister of Communications and Information Johnny also asked the officers guarding the entrance to tighten supervision so that residents who were positive for COVID-19 did not pass the examination.

On the other hand, the public is also asked to continue to comply with health protocols and not to travel if they are positive for COVID-19 so that the healing treatment can take place optimally.

"Outdoor activities are clearly very risky to endanger the health of others. The government asks the public to participate in raising awareness and being responsible by avoiding the risk of transmission to other people," Johnny reminded.

According to the Minister of Communication and Information, these various efforts were made to avoid a spike in COVID-19 cases that occurred in mid-June-August 2021. During that period, the increase in cases was not only caused by the spread of the Delta variant, but also socio-economic activities that were not balanced with the discipline of health protocols. .

Previously, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi also reminded again that the next wave of COVID-19 could occur. Moreover, at this time there is a threat of new variants that may enter from abroad or even emerge from within the country which affects the level of transmission and the efficacy of the vaccine.

"Therefore, we must not be careless. The pandemic is not over yet, please obey the health protocols and increase our vaccination coverage," he said.
