Pidie Jaya And Aceh Besar Successfully Descend The COVID-19 Zone, Banda Aceh Is Still 'Faithful' In The Red Zone

ACEH - The Aceh COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) stated that Banda Aceh is the only area that still has a red zone status or a high risk of transmitting the spread of the corona virus.

Spokesman for the handling of COVID-19 in Aceh, Saifullah Abdulgani, said that during the past week, there were three regions with red zone status, namely Banda Aceh, Pidie Jaya Regency and Aceh Besar Regency.

"The results of the data analysis last week showed that the three areas were in the red zone and now Banda Aceh is still in the red zone. Meanwhile, Aceh Besar is already in the orange zone and Pidie Jaya is in the yellow zone," said Saifullah in Banda Aceh, Antara, Thursday, September 15.

According to him, during the period 6-12 September 2021, based on the analysis of the expert team of the national COVID-19 Handling Task Force, the pandemic conditions in Aceh began to improve.

In addition to Pidie Jaya Regency, which continues to improve from the red zone to the yellow zone, there are also areas that were previously an orange zone, but have now become yellow zones such as Southeast Aceh, North Aceh, Aceh Jaya, and Simeulue.

In contrast to Gayo Lues, Bener Meriah, and Aceh Singkil, their zoning status has dropped from the yellow zone to the orange zone, which is a moderate risk zone for an increase in COVID-19 cases. While the yellow zone is an area of low risk of increasing cases.

Therefore, until now only Banda Aceh is still a red zone. Meanwhile, Southeast Aceh, North Aceh, Pidie Jaya, Aceh Jaya, and Simeulue are in the yellow zone. Meanwhile, Aceh Besar and 16 other regencies/cities are still in the orange zone.

"The zone that is considered safe from the risk of transmitting the virus and increasing cases of COVID-19 is the green zone," he said.

Saifullah asked all to continue to be enthusiastic about continuing efforts to suppress new cases, improve recovery, improve hospital services, increase COVID-19 vaccination, and reduce the risk of death.

According to the spokesman, who is familiarly called SAG, this effort must be carried out together involving all elements of society so that all regions in Aceh become green zones.

"Public participation is very decisive in implementing health protocols, supporting testing, tracing close contacts of COVID-19 cases, and increasing vaccination coverage in every district/city in Aceh," he said.

As of this Thursday, COVID-19 cases in Aceh have reached 36,459 people, including 5,300 infected patients being treated, 29,409 recovered patients, and 1,750 deaths accumulatively.
