Luhut-Anies Compactly Wears A Project Vest When Reviewing The Construction Of The Sea Wall In Muara Baru

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan review the current condition of the sea wall construction in Muara Baru, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Thursday, September 16.

This activity is not only aimed at observing the condition of the sea wall construction but is also a series of efforts to accelerate the DKI Jakarta Province Infrastructure Development and Flood Control in the DKI Jakarta Province.

Seen in the entourage of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of ATR/BPN Sofyan Djalil, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim.

After seeing the Muara Baru sea wall, the group of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia Luhut Binsar Panjaitan and the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Anies Rasyid Baswedan moved to the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA).

There the group took a boat and returned to check the Kali Adem Coast Guard Embankment.

Basuki Hadimuljono said the embankment construction program on the coast is an environmental remediation agenda for the City of Jakarta, which is experiencing land subsidence of 5-10 centimeters per year.

He added that the challenges facing Jakarta need support from various parties, especially the community, in saving ground water use.

The construction of the sea wall is aimed at anticipating tidal flooding (rob) and improving the quality of service and the economy at the port.

Currently, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to anticipate land subsidence in various ways. One of them is the construction of embankments in the coastal areas of Jakarta, which are critical areas as a priority.

From the results of the cooperation agreement, the construction of the embankment is divided by three people in charge, namely the Ministry of PUPR for 15.66 kilometers, the DKI Jakarta Government for 28.53 kilometers, and the private sector for 2.1 kilometers.

This private involvement is part of the compensation for the development of the reclamation area in Jakarta Bay.

In addition to the concrete embankment, the Jakarta Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) is also trying to prevent natural waves from crashing into the mainland by restoring mangroves. This was reported by Antara.
