Vocational High School Students In Gianyar Bali Try To Rape Woman In The River, Arrested But Not Legally Processed
GIANYAR - A vocational school student was arrested by the Tegallalang Police for attempting to rape a woman in Gianyar, Bali. But the legal case did not continue.
"There has been an attempted obscene incident," said Tegallalang Police Chief AKP I Ketut Sudita, Thursday, September 16.
The attempted rape took place in a public bathing area on the river bank of Kenderan Village, Tegallalang, Gianyar.
While the victim was taking a bath, suddenly the victim's dog barked. The victim saw the perpetrator running towards the bathhouse.
The victim screamed. The suspect approached the victim and fled.
"Then the perpetrator hid in the bushes on the side of the road. The victim then chased the perpetrator, but only found the motorbike used by the perpetrator," added Sudita.
At that time, the witness and the victim were waiting for the perpetrator on a motorbike parked on the side of the road. The perpetrator appeared and was arrested by Bhabinkamtibmas.
"Against the perpetrators and evidence in the form of bicycles belonging to the perpetrators were secured to the Tegallalang Police for further examination," said Sudita.
However, the legal process against the perpetrator was suspended because the perpetrator's family apologized. The victim's family also apologized and withdrew the report to the police for the incident.
"It's restorative justice so because they have coordinated and forgiven and the victim did not demand and forgive the incident. So they have agreed to withdraw and resolve it amicably. They are indeed peaceful (and the perpetrators) are still minors," said AKP Sudita.
