Warning From Erick Thohir To Private Companies Partners Of SOEs: Don't Outsmart, You Have To Profit Together!

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir emphasized that he did not want SOEs to become like ivory towers. Therefore, he ensures that SOEs will continue to cooperate with the private sector and local governments. Even so, he asked that the cooperation should be mutually beneficial or win-win with good business processes.

Furthermore, Erick asked that in practice, the private sector who collaborated with state-owned companies not to play cheating.

"I also ask the private sector partners with SOEs not to cheat. It must be a win-win event," he said in a virtual 'Launching of Products with Food Stalls', Thursday, September 16.

Erick said that in the current era, digitalization is very transparent. Moreover, COVID-19 itself has forced companies to transform into the digital era.

"COVID is forcing digitalization to happen. It means transparency and an open market," he said.

In addition, Erick also emphasized that all forms of projects, both between SOEs and the private sector, should not lead to acts of corruption.

"I don't want state-owned companies where corruption often occurs because project-based is not a good business process," he said.
