About Barca Rolled By Bayern, Laporta Says To Supporters: Be Patient
JAKARTA - Barcelona president Joan Laporta asked his team's supporters to be patient after they suffered a humiliating 0-3 defeat at home to Bayern Munich in their Champions League Group E opener at Camp Nou, Tuesday local time.
"Hello Cules, I'm just as disappointed and angry as you are," Laporta said opening his message in a video he posted on his personal Twitter account, @JoanLaportaFCB, on Wednesday.
"I must say that what happened was one of the situations we had anticipated. I ask you to be patient and continue to support our beloved team.
A message for all the culers: trust and support to our team. Do not doubt that we will solve this situation. Visca el Barça! pic.twitter.com/eBtxPQIeOj

"I also ask that you continue to believe in us, the people who manage this club. We need your trust and time, and we believe we can overcome all of this," he said in the 30-second video released by Antara.
The defeat seemed to be the next disappointment for Barcelona supporters, after they failed to extend the contract of superstar Lionel Messi because they tripped over the Spanish League budget limit rules.
Laporta started his second tenor as Barcelona president in March after being elected by a majority following the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu, who was dogged by a no-confidence vote.
However, Laporta's second tenor was not as smooth as his first period, in which Barca only finished third in the Spanish League last season and Messi's contract extension failure which eventually landed him at the wealthy French club, Paris Saint-Germain.
Laporta has previously revealed that Barcelona are experiencing financial difficulties and the club is in debt of 1.35 billion euros (approximately IDR 22.7 trillion) as a legacy of the Bartomeu era.
