Pertamina Gas Subholding Target, Distributes 14 BBTUD Gas Until The End Of 2021
JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) continues to be committed to serving natural gas needs for retail and general industrial customers. Including smelters and customers in Special Economic Zones/Industrial Zones.
In the midst of the challenges of the pandemic, PGN as the Subholding Gas of PT Pertamina Persero, continues to seek to increase utilization and customers in the industrial and retail sectors. As of August 2021, PGN Subholding Gas has managed to add 75 retail and general industrial customers spread across PGN's operational areas in Sales Operation Region (SOR) I Sumatra and its surroundings, SOR II West Java and SOR III Central and East Java. The total distribution to these new customers was 9.37 BBTUD.
The increase in the number of new customers continues to be pursued to pursue the gas distribution target of 14 BBTUD until the end of 2021.
PGN Director of Sales and Operations Faris Aziz explained that since 2020 services for retail and general industry have been carried out within the framework of the National Retail and General Industry Gasification Program (PGN Retail and General Industry) and part of the Company's Long-Term Plan. This program is carried out through the implementation of Customer Attachment projects or new connections to prospective customers.
"The pandemic conditions from 2020 had a distinct impact on the implementation of PGN Retail and General Industry. On the customer side, there is a decrease in the use of natural gas, so adjustments must be made to the plan for the utilization of gas. Engagement with potential customers must be maintained together to overcome the pandemic conditions and maintain future growth opportunities," said Faris in a written statement, Wednesday, September 15.
Faris continued, the pandemic condition is also a challenge for PGN in completing Customer Attachment projects. Project activities in the field must be adjusted to the health protocol settings, both related to working time arrangements, implementation procedures and other HSSE aspects.
With various innovations carried out, PGN maintains a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for project completion with new customers.
The natural gas gasification program will be carried out continuously to serve natural gas needs for retail and general industrial customers, including smelters and customers in Special Economic Zones/Industrial Zones.
The potential demand for gas in the Industrial Estate (KI) -/+ is 390 BBTUD. Meanwhile, the Smelter project has a potential gas demand of up to 80 BBTUD. PGN Subholding Gas Pertamina has signed a HOA for gas distribution to KI Kendal with a potential demand of 37 BBTUD and KIT Batang with gas demand when operating in 2023 is estimated at 24 MMSCFD which can be done through gas pipeline infrastructure, CNG and LNG.
"Continuously, PGN as Subholding Gas develops pipeline infrastructure for transmission and distribution of natural gas as well as other modes of transportation to connect supply sources with points of demand, for power, refinery, industrial, commercial, and household customers," said Faris. .
