Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Launches 3 Clean Markets: Lau Cih, Sentosa Baru And Bakti

MEDAN - The Medan City Government, North Sumatra, launched three clean markets, namely Induk Lau Cih, Sentosa Baru, and Bakti as the realization of priority programs in the field of cleanliness.

"This does not mean that the other markets are not clean, but these three markets are examples of handling cleanliness and waste management from upstream to downstream," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution when together with the Chairman of the PKK Mobilization Team for Medan City, Kahiyang Ayu, launched a clean market and waste management at the Main Market. The Mayor of Medan explained that a clean market not only provides comfort for visitors, but can also provide economic value from the waste produced.

"Waste from this market will be processed into compost to support the agricultural sector in Medan Tuntungan District and also to other areas in North Sumatra," said Bobby Nasution.

The Acting Director of PD Pasar Medan City Tengku Maya Magdina added that his party involved traders to maintain cleanliness in the market.

"The mayor's message emphasized not to stop at this declaration. Waste processing from upstream to downstream continues to be maximized," he said.

"This declaration was also carried out in two markets, namely Pasar Bakti and Pasar Sentosa Baru. Collaboration with the Sanitation and Park Service Office, PD Pasar and the sub-district party," explained Maya.
